Welcome to my personal web page.
My name is Hugo Mineiro Rodrigues, I am 26 years old currently living in the UK, but am originally from Lisbon Portugal. I am presently working as a Graphic/Web Designer at the Edinburgh University.
This website contains a sample of the work that I developed from 2004 to the present. I began developing websites in 2000 as a hobby where I tested the knowledge gained in the Multimedia Engineering Course. In the mean time I began developing freelance, focusing on flash-based websites.
This then lead me to Edinburgh in 2005 when I started producing print work, based on my experience at the ECA Graphic Design Course.
However this was as well a time of media expansion after the 3dstudio Max 8 and Flash Mx 2004 application development course I started to do animations for such company's as Price Waterhouse Coopers.

Currently I am pursuing a more user-focused perspective on website and animation. How do the users view and use it? How do we improve the users experience, simultaneously providing the same level of experience through the widest possible audience? This is why I am currently enrolled in the second year of Computing and Design Part Time course.

WEB | WEBDEVELOPEMENT OVER THE PAST 6 YEARS
I have been developing websites since 2000. The majority have been developed using flash, however this past year I have used primarily HTML, CSS, JAVASCRIPT, PHP and MYSQL.

A fresh and innovative new course at the university uses horizontal scrolling to convey the website as a walk-through exhibition.
Tecnorem
The website for one of Portugal's leading construction companies. Developed entirely in flash, it uses a full screen portfolio viewer to showcase their projects.
NSPCC CLICP
The website for the Centre for Learning in Child Protection, leased with a design company in London. The site uses the same layout as the main The University Edinburgh.
The Gifford Lectures
An annual conferece Series about the knowlege of God hosted at The University Edinburgh.

Edinburgh 2010 is a conference to be hosted by the church of Scotland to open up dialogue between all religions. Website (typo3), Logo and poster developed

1975 Earthquake
express an important historical date and its event through letterpress printing: I chose the date of a major earthquake that devastated most of downtown Lisbon

to create the label of a bottle of apple and raspberry juice of the fictitious brand Blackbird
HouseHelpers
to create a fictitious company and its brand imaging and logo, inspired by the words “save money” and “housewife”
JD Mail Form
to create a form for a fictitious retail company. The entire text to be put on the form was given in a single paragraph in the brief.

to work with a photographer to obtain original material and stock imagery, to then arrange a layout for a poster and a CD cover for the opera Madam Butterfly
